Mechanics guide
How to Set in Volleyball Legends
Learn second-touch positioning, ground sets, jump sets, hitter timing, and how to create a spike instead of an emergency return.
Core sequence
How to set consistently
- 01
Claim second touch
Move under the receive early so another teammate does not panic-return the ball.
- 02
Face the hitter
Use camera and movement to send the set toward the intended attack lane.
- 03
Choose height
Ground Q creates a shorter set; airborne Q creates a higher, farther jump set.
- 04
Recover coverage
After setting, move to cover a block rebound or short return.
Common errors
set mistakes to fix
- Setting too low for a spiker to approach
- Sending every ball directly forward
- Jump setting when a short ground set is safer
- Admiring the set instead of covering the next ball
Better habit
What good players repeat
Strong mechanics are boring in the best way: clear target, stable body position, one planned input, then immediate recovery for the next ball.
Practice Mode
Three set drills
Set from center court to each antenna.
Alternate one ground set and one jump set.
Call the hitter before the receive reaches you.
